Lakshana, the model from Malluwood, made her debut as Vijay’s sister in Sivakaasi. Seeing hermodelling stills, director Perarasu summoned her to Chennai for a screen test and told her to act out two scenes. He okayed her but she was advised against accepting the role, that of a sister, because she would then get branded as a sister. She was encouraged by Perarsu and Vijay. Her first shot was in Kariakudi outdoor shoot with crowds around; her first dialogue was to say " dey poda" to Vijay. She was literally shivering but Vijay told her to see him only as a character, not as Illaya Thalapathi. Now the words of Perarsu and Vijay have come true. She has been signed to play the heroine opposite S.J. Suryah in a film directed by Rathinakumar for Thirumaghan. She has also signed to act opposite Nagendrababu for a Telugu film. A quick graduation from sister to heroine! Great going, Lakshana!
